Lucknow: There’s good news for employees and officers working in municipal corporations and local bodies. The state government has announced a grade pay hike, which will directly benefit thousands of workers who’ve been serving for over a decade.
According to the new order, employees who are currently in the pay scale of Rs. 9300–34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4600, will see their Grade Pay increased to Rs. 4800 after 10 years of continuous service. This move comes under the Assured Career Progression (ACP) scheme, designed to ensure timely promotions and financial growth for government staff.
Earlier, employees had to wait for a much longer period with no clarity on pay scale upgrades. Now, as per the latest instructions from the Urban Development Department, staff will first be moved from Grade Pay Rs. 4200 to Rs. 4600, and after completing 10 years, they’ll receive the Grade Pay of Rs. 4800.
This is a significant jump for those working as Assistant Engineers, Junior Engineers, and similar technical or administrative posts. The new pay structure will not only improve salaries but also boost morale among ground-level workers who have been waiting for this hike for years.
The government has made it clear that these benefits will be given strictly as per ACP rules and regulations. Employees working in municipal bodies like Nagar Nigams, Nagar Palikas, and Town Area Committees will be eligible for this increment.
To put it simply, if you’ve been serving in these departments for 10 years or more, your monthly pay packet is about to get a well-deserved upgrade!
